Kajal Nalwa, an artist renowned for her captivating paintings, attended The Lawrence School Sanawar, where she majored in Art and was awarded the Art Prize in 1982. She furthered her education in Textile Design for two years at Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai, where she received the Camlin Watercolour Prize in 1983. Kajal completed her BA in Arts from Punjab University. 

As a participating artist in the SAARC artist workshop held in New Delhi in 2003, she has made significant contributions to the art community. In 2007, she reviewed art for the magazine Hello Noida, a Newsline Publication. The subject of Kajal Nalwa's work often revolves around nature and women, exploring their interrelation as 'givers of life.' Her original art utilizes various mediums, including oil on canvas with palette knives, acrylic on canvas, watercolor, and mixed media on paper.

Kajal held her first solo exhibition in New Delhi in 2002, inaugurated by Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Honourable Prime Minister of India. Since then, she has showcased her work in many solo exhibitions across India and one in London at the Nehru Centre, where her exhibition was inaugurated by The Lord Paul of Marylebone.

She was also a participating artist in a group exhibition at the National Museum of Riyadh, a collaboration between the Indian High Commission and the Saudi Arabian government, featuring women artists from both countries. This exhibition, entitled 'Reflections: Women in Art,' was inaugurated by Her Highness Princess Adelah of Saudi Arabia.

Kajal has held a solo exhibition by invitation at ICCR in New Delhi. Her last exhibition took place at the Visual Arts Gallery, IHC, in 2021.
